Seasons

May 20, 2011

I’ve been thinking lately that we really do have certain “seasons” where things are right for our lives…and then they stop being right, and we need to adjust. I was also thinking that we need to be really conscious of when things maybe aren’t as right anymore as they once were – and be prepared to react to that.

Tonight I ended a really really long season of something for me. Here I am (ignore how tired and ratty I look – small boy not sleeping; turns out ear infection; hopefully situation will rectify itself soon):

What, it’s not clear?!? OKAY HOW ABOUT THIS:

Yep, I ate meat. For the first time in…counting on fingers….and Brandon’s fingers….close to 19 years. It was time, for a lot of reasons. And it is WEIRD. But it’s good too.

This will make no one as happy as my mother. Happy mother’s day mom! You can put chicken stock in the rice again.

(If you listen very carefully, that thunk you hear is my mother falling out of her chair.)
