Mom Hair Style 17: Braided Bun

January 18, 2012

This is another neat style, because it allows you to totally cheat if you don’t have enough hair!

Here’s the link to the tutorial:

Basically all you are doing here is making five separate braids in your hair, and twisting them all into a bun shape, and then pinning the heck out of it.

I like that you have the freedom to kind of fake things – pin your braids in a bigger shape to make it look like a bigger bun. Though I think if you had lots of hair (and therefore big braids) this would be absolutely gorgeous. Go check out the link for the tutorial – it’s explained really well there!

Then you can do your hair and make ridiculous faces for the camera. No? Just me then? ALRIGHTY, MOVING ON!

Reeeeview!

PRETTY/FUN FACTOR:

This one is totally pretty and fun. I think you could glam it up beautifully with some more dramatic makeup and a pin or a flower clip….but the braids make it really fun too.

HOW HARD IS IT TO DO?:

I’d call this one medium – it’s certainly not that hard, you aren’t french braiding or anything -just regular braiding – but it took a little work and a lot of time with a hand mirror to make sure all of my braids were arranged the way I wanted them, and that everything looked more or less even.

HOW MANY EPISODES OF PINGU DO I NEED TO DISTRACT MY KID WITH TO DO IT?

Give yourself two or three five-minute episodes the first time…just to get the hang of it!
